Sensory Minds transformed Hoffmeister’s trade show presence at Light+Building 2012, creating a stunning digital-first experience that captivated visitors.

At Light+Building 2012, the world’s largest trade fair for lighting and building technology, Sensory Minds introduced a groundbreaking, interactive brand space for Hoffmeister, a company with over 100 years of tradition. The centerpiece of the exhibit was a 15-meter-long Full HD touchwall, controlled by intuitive gestures, where visitors could engage with the company’s extensive new product range in an interactive, multimedia format.

Redefined Product Interaction

By eliminating traditional physical product displays, Sensory Minds placed the spotlight entirely on the virtual-digital experience, immersing visitors in a futuristic, sensory journey. This decision brought a fresh focus on digital presentation and allowed visitors to explore products in an innovative way, where touch and interaction with the digital world replaced physical product handling. This immersive experience represented the company’s leap into the digital age, blending playful interaction with a visually stunning display, while subtly reinforcing Hoffmeister’s commitment to technological advancement.

Multi-Device Experience

The success of the interactive touchwall at the trade show extended beyond the event itself. Sensory Minds built on this innovative approach by developing smartphone and tablet apps that continued Hoffmeister’s digital brand communication strategy. These apps were designed for iPhone, iPad, and Android, providing users with the latest news and product updates in line with the company’s evolving brand narrative.


The development of the apps was highly efficient due to the use of a platform-independent AIR application, which streamlined the process and kept costs down for Hoffmeister.

This cohesive media mix ensured that the digital experience could be extended across multiple devices, creating a consistent brand journey from the exhibition floor to users’ personal devices, reinforcing Hoffmeister’s position as a forward-thinking player in the industry.
