Creating a High-End Shopping Experience

For Decor Walther, we've developed a high-end B2C Webshop for their Home & Bath product range, which contains beautiful things related to living, bathing, and lifestyle.

A new digital home for 'Home & Bath'

The shopping experience of the traditional flagship store of Home & Bath, established since 1973, has been digitized. Through the new high-end webshop, existing and new customers can oversee the product range of the furniture store and order directly online. For this, a reduced, elegant style was developed for the site.

Smart processes

Home & Bath presents a carefully selected product range of living accessories, bath articles, and lifestyle products in its two concept stores in Frankfurt. Behind the concept is Decor Walther, a traditional brand of high-quality interior design. The Home & Bath Shop offers the brand's pieces for sale to end customers, but also offers products from selected other names in the luxury sector for living and bathroom accessories. We have digitized the shopping experience and the style of the traditional high-end furnisher established since 1973 through the new webshop.

When creating the webshop for Home & Bath Frankfurt, two goals were in focus: On the one hand, a modern and stylish presentation of the offered living accessories was to be ensured, on the other hand, the shopping experience was to be designed as pleasant as possible - and specifically tailored to the demanding end consumers in the upper luxury segment. For this purpose, smart processes were developed that increase the comfort in the ordering process for existing customers and intuitively guide new customers.

Highly intuitive

The focus in implementing this webshop was not only on high-quality optics, but also on intuitive functionality that promotes sales.

The product presentation offers information and orientation, as well as numerous opportunities to be inspired.

Partner brands are presented in a reduced-modern style and atmospheric product worlds are set in scene. There is also a 360-degree tour of the flagship store in Frankfurt.

Technology

One of the challenges for the Home & Bath webshop was to merge the existing customer logistics system for tracking the product inventory in stationary stores (MyFactory) with an independent backend. Orders from the webshop should be transmitted to the client's inventory management system. For this, Black Squirrel was used.

Black Squirrel is our in-house white label web framework, built with the MERN stack (MongoDB, ExpressJS, React, NodeJS). The framework comes with a content management system for platform administrators. With Black Squirrel, e-commerce shops and customer loyalty platforms can be developed. A large part of the configuration is done with YAML configuration files. These can define environment variables, the database model, page templates, and even frontend forms.
