At the IAA 2017, Porsche and Sensory-Minds launched an innovative Treasure Hunt game using a dedicated Wi-Fi network to engage visitors.

Engaging Wi-Fi Adventure

Sensory-Minds designed a specialized Wi-Fi network for Porsche at the IAA 2017, covering specific areas of their booth. This network didn’t provide internet access but connected visitors to a unique Treasure Hunt game. As visitors moved within five designated zones, the Wi-Fi tracked their location, displaying relevant content based on their position.

Each zone featured five tasks with two questions tailored to that specific area, creating an interactive and engaging experience. Concept, text, and design were all crafted by Sensory-Minds, ensuring a seamless and captivating journey for the participants.

Smart Navigation and Rewards

Given the variable accuracy of Wi-Fi tracking, ranging between 5 to 15 meters, Sensory-Minds added a manual location setting feature within the web app to ensure a smooth user experience, even amidst the dense trade fair environment. Upon completing the Treasure Hunt, participants could enter a contest, with their data stored for future use.

If a visitor provided their email, they would be notified of any prize via the "Treasure Hunt" server, which also managed email delivery using a dedicated SMTP access provided by Sensory-Minds. Additionally, Sensory-Minds ensured the system operated smoothly with a reliable internet connection throughout the event.
